Don’t Miss The Hogwarts Legacy Interactions That Let You Become Malfoy

Summary

  • Role-playing as a bully in
    Hogwarts Legacy
can be challenging, but tormenting Grace Pinch-Smedley offers the meanest interactions.
  • Players can act like Draco Malfoy by stealing from Grace and mocking her, embracing their inner school thug persona.
  • Despite limitations on rude behavior, players find ways to engage in bullying interactions with NPCs like Grace and Zenobia in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy players disappointed by the inability to play as a “mean” character shouldn’t miss out on some key interactions as one fan points out the best way to be a real bully. While Portkey Games’ expansive open-world RPG does provide an authentic recreation of the ever-popular Wizard World, it’s debatable how successful it is when it comes to role-playing. Despite a massive map and plenty of character customization, the game is largely insistent that players are, at the very least, polite, but that all goes out the window when one specific NPC is around.

Posted to Reddit by user LanLanLu, the player shared their discovery that the best way to role-play as a bully character is to channel the energy of Draco Malfoy, an antagonist in the Harry Potter series, whenever talking with Grace Pinch-Smedley.

An unassuming Slytherin student in Hogwarts Legacy, users can make her life miserable by firstly stealing her Astrolobe and then mocking her when she loses at a game of Summoner’s Court. While these instances are limited, they still serve as some of the meanest interactions in the game, perfect for those looking to take on the role of the school thug.

Hogwarts Legacy Encourages Politeness

It’s Really Difficult To Roleplay As Draco Malfoy

Many Hogwarts Legacy players have lamented the fact that the game actively discourages the main character from being a bully by making most of the dialogue options very polite or tweaking potentially rude statements to sound less harsh. Given the popularity of Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter’s sneering tormentor, the community was largely disheartened to discover that they couldn’t replicate his cruel jabs and insults. Fortunately, picking on Grace Pinch-Smedley should hopefully satisfy those who want to play a more overtly evil character.

Grace Pinch-Smedley isn’t the only person in Hogwarts Legacy who serves as an opportune person to bully, but she certainly is the most affected. Other instances of cruelty can be exacted upon Zenobia Noke, who requests that the main character track down and return her collection of Gobstones. Refusing to hand them over results in players not earning the reward for the quest and seemingly serves only as a means of simply upsetting the NPC, exactly what a dedicated bully would do in such a situation.

Hogwarts Legacy may have disappointed players looking for a “Draco Malfoy simulator” but that hasn’t stopped the rest of the community from falling head over heels for it. Some have called on Portkey Games to add additional dialogue options to the game to better facilitate role-playing but given that the studio has stated that it’ll soon be winding down development, it seems like such a massive addition is unlikely. An upcoming summer update will soon be released to add some quality-of-life features to the game but specifics have yet to be confirmed.
