Other notable highlights include Rise of the Ronin from Team Ninja (Nioh, Wo Long), Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and Granblue Fantasy Relink. The second quarter of 2024 looks to continue the action-filled video game trend with several large launches as the weather turns warmer. Especially notable are Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, an action-heavy metroidvania previously announced at the 2023 Game Awards, and the PS5 exclusive sci-fi action game, Stellar Blade, which has had many excitedly anticipating it for quite some time. Another notable inclusion is the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to Elden Ring, releasing in late June 2024.

Among these confirmed games includes Black Myth: Wukong, which is based on Chinese mythology and promises to be an impressive and detailed title. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is another to watch, and is a sequel to a well-regarded third-person shooter of the same name released in 2011.

So far, looking at the end of 2024 into the holiday season appears pretty bare for the action video game genre. Naturally, many developers who have not yet announced their launch dates will be shooting or this time frame to benefit from the holiday sales, and so the list will grow. In the meantime, there is currently only one title that is confirmed to be releasing between October 1 to December 31, Terminator: Survivors, which will be entering its early access period.
